Perhaps they fixed this with an update, I haven't used it for the last six months or so. piano VSTs may lack the dynamic range and versatility of Pianoteq, or its ability to. And a lot is personal preference. A lot comes down to how much you want a particular sound vs playability. I think each piano has its own character, so. I have a well maintained i6700 based system with a dedicated SSD for all my samples, with an RME UCX audio interface, and it was still hard to avoid clicks and pops at reasonable latencies (in fact the audio buffer didn't seem to do that much). Pianoteq makes digital pianos sound like a real piano without using. Pianoteq is more to fun to play IMO: it feels more responsive to me, though there isn't that much in it. These are some of the virtual pianos I've collected over the years, some hardware, some software. None of them come close to playing an actual grand so I guess ultimately it's whether or not it has the sound you're looking for in your music.ĮDIT: also, ridiculously, Keyscape is really heavy on CPU and disk speed, even though it's only playing samples. Unfortunately, there's no way to demo most of the sampled options other than the VSL instruments. I bought the Ravenscroft Kontakt package on a recommendation but don't really like it. Pianoteq is more to fun to play IMO: it feels more responsive to me, though there isn't that much in it. Addictive Keys has some cool dark "mood" pianos. It loads into Dual Live Mode pretty fast from an NVMe M.2. I do have the Steam Folder seperate from streaming SSDs for samples. Its unique sonic capabilities, smart workflow, fast load-times, and outstanding sound quality are designed to help you stay in the creative flow and to compose great music while youre in the zone. Ivory is still on my list but I hate iLok and I'm already carrying two other dongles. I layer Keyscape with Catntebury and PianoTeq 64 Samples/. Addictive Keys brings the worlds most inspiring and interesting keyboard instruments into the studios of songwriters, producers, and music makers. I've used and enjoyed Pianoteq on occasion but didn't jive with it enough to make it a go-to. Many of them are electric and eclectic but there’s a wonderful Grand Piano, a pair of uprights, a Butterfly Piano, and 3 Toy Pianos.
Where other VST Pianos focus exclusively on a single instrument, Keyscape takes in 36 models of keyboard instrument. I'd rate almost any semi-recent piano above the Keyscape C7 but I particularly like the Kronos German Grand and NI The Grandeur of the ones that I own. Keyscape is an enormous collection of keyboards.
